Spacious residential additions
Home additions built out from the house you have
Bedrooms, bathrooms, kitchens, pool houses, screen rooms and four-season rooms, framed and finished by a licensed Leominster contractor who is on the job site.
Chapter 01
What an addition can be
JMP Construction builds spacious residential additions around Leominster, and the list of what that can mean is a long one. Bedrooms and bathrooms are the common asks. Kitchens get pushed out past the old back wall. Pool houses, screen rooms, and three-season and four-season rooms put usable space where the yard used to be, and garages and sheds give the tools and the vehicles somewhere to go. Jay, the owner, will tell you plainly which of those the house and the lot can carry.
What separates a three-season room from a four-season room is mostly what happens inside the walls, the floor and the glass, because that decides how the room feels in January. It is worth settling before anyone frames anything. High-end building products go into each JMP job, and the choice of what to build with gets made with you, standing in the space, not decided somewhere behind your back.

Addition framed in green sheathing under a new shed roof, set on stone piers
Framing, sheathing and the roof tie-in
An addition starts at the ground. The photo on this page is one of Jay's own: a new addition framed and closed in with green sheathing, a shed roof over it, the whole structure set on stone piers. Piers give the new framing something solid to bear on and let the footprint sit where the lot allows. Walls go up first, sheathing closes them in, and only then does the new roof meet the old house.
The roof tie-in is where an addition earns its reputation. A new roof has to meet an old one at the right pitch, with flashing lapped so water runs off and away from the seam instead of into it. Old houses are rarely square, so the new framing is measured against the house as it actually stands. Jay is on the job site while that happens, which is the stage where a question answered on the spot saves a correction later.
Chapter 03
Planning the estimate, and the senior specials
Consultations and estimates at JMP are free, and so is the talk about whether the addition you have in mind is right for the house. Bring a rough idea: which room, which side of the house, and what it needs to hold. Jay will look at the lot and the existing structure in Leominster or the surrounding towns, then talk through materials and how the new space should join the old one.
Ask about the specials JMP offers seniors; the details are worth getting directly from Jay when you call (978) 235-4746. The work is done under Construction Supervisor License #86440 and Home Improvement Contractor #159480, by a licensed and insured team, so the paperwork side of an addition is handled by people who hold the credentials for it. Free estimates also mean you can compare plans without any pressure to commit.
