Interior and exterior, lead-safe
Painting in Leominster, lead-safe outside and finished walls inside
Interior and exterior painting for houses and commercial buildings, with drywall finishing, plastering and patchwork done before the first coat.
Chapter 01
Exterior painting starts with what is under the old paint
Exterior paint rarely fails at the top coat. Peeling, bubbling and chalking usually trace back to a surface that was not scraped, washed, sanded and primed properly, or to bare wood and open seams that let moisture in behind the film. Older houses add another layer to the problem, because plenty of them carry lead paint in the coats below, and scraping or sanding that dry spreads dust across the yard and into the house.
JMP Construction is EPA lead-safe certified under the renovation, repair and painting program. In practice that means preparing an old surface so dust is contained instead of scattered, and cleaning up so none of it follows the family indoors. Jay holds Construction Supervisor License #86440, and the painting team is licensed and insured on every Leominster job.
Paint quality counts too. JMP uses high-quality brands of paint, because an inexpensive coat laid over careful prep still chalks and fades early. When Jay comes to see the house for the free estimate, ask which finish suits your siding and trim, and why.

Interior painting: the wall comes first
A paint job shows every flaw in the wall under it. Raking light across a skim of unsanded joint compound, a hairline crack, or a dent left by a moved sofa will all read straight through two coats of paint. The finish people notice in a room is mostly decided before the can is opened.
That is why JMP lists drywall finishing, plastering and patchwork alongside interior painting. Joints are taped and finished, damaged plaster is patched back to a flat plane, and holes and cracks are filled and sanded, so the paint lands on one uniform surface. A patch that was only painted over, never finished, shows itself from every angle of daylight.
JMP also frames walls and hangs drywall in its carpentry work, so a repaired or rebuilt wall can go straight from the carpenter to the painter inside one company. Call (978) 235-4746 for a free estimate in Leominster or the surrounding area.
Chapter 03
Houses, storefronts and the crew that paints them
JMP paints residential and commercial buildings. The method stays the same on a house and on a commercial space, with prep first and paint second, but the job around it does not: who is in the building, which surfaces are seen by customers, and what has to stay open. The free estimate is where those details get settled.
The owner is present at each job site, which on a paint job means the person answerable for the work is also the one looking at the prep before the first coat goes on. Calls and emails are returned within a couple of hours, and the company has been established since 2007.
